I have spent the past 20 years in a variety of leadership roles within retail, civic, political and church organizations. During that time, I followed several leadership blogs/sites. According to them, leaders should walk on water like Peter, be able to part the sea like Moses, have the patience of Job, the enduring wisdom of Solomon. It was unrealistic, exhausting and sometimes nauseating. I believe a good leader just lives out the simple virtues of kindness, honesty, integrity, and just makes others feel better by simply being around you.
