Be a good citizen and a good human

The tangibles: we donate to our local food bank, donate pet supplies and toys to the local animal shelter. Here in Washington, you can turn in aluminum cans for cash. Instead of taking the cash for ourselves, we donate the bags of cans to a local kids’ club. This way, they can take the cans and get the money for their programs.

The intangibles: be a courteous driver and not a jerk behind the wheel. Let the person merge into traffic, let another person have the parking spot first. Being kind to retail workers. Smile and say thank you.
