When my husband and I were in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, we toured a family-owned Tequila factory/plantation in the mountains. The family also had a restaurant attached to the factory with live music from the locals. They had a Surf and Turf meal of fresh fish, steak, locally grown native fruits and vegetables and homemade bread. You traveled by bus to reach the factory. Then the restaurant was at the top of the hill using yellow stairs. You sat at tables overlooking the hillside. You could see the road below and the farmers traveling by horseback to get around. Worth every penny especially the way the Mexican people love opening their farms and businesses to tourists and showcase their food and talent.
