If you won two free plane tickets, where would you go?
I hate flying. I would barter with someone, trade them in or swap for coffee gift cards π or see if I could exchange them for an RV rental
What’s the story behind your nickname?
Right before my husband and I were married, his sister passed away suddenly after giving birth to her second child. She left behind a newborn and a three year old daughter. I instantly had two children I raised for 6 months while our brother in law got back on his feet. My name is Elaine but my three year old niece couldn’t pronounce that, so she always reversed it and called me Lainey. It stuck! After that and for almost 30 years, my husband, and all his family called me Lainey.
What strategies do you use to maintain your health and well-being?
This prompt could also be entitled “How to maintain your sanity” π
My list: a verse each day from the good Book, good worship music that uplfts, a good long walk, and as always, a really really good cup of coffee
What are your future travel plans?
Getting out and exploring our new home state of Washington. Taking in some history in the capitol, Olympia. A hike around Mt. Rainier, and at the top of the wish list, heading to the ocean for whale watching.
What would you change about modern society?
I would love to have a magic wand so I could go “abracadabra” and make human and child trafficking disappear.Β It is abhorrent to me that this occurs and human beings barter and sell another human being.
What do you listen to while you work?
Since I am a retail store manager I am rarely sitting in an office. So I get to listen to endless questions from employees, “delightful” things from customers, the ringing of the phones, and the soothing sounds of the trash compactor and cardboard baler. π€£
Whatβs your go-to comfort food?
Anything with pasta. Chicken Alfredo. Macaroni and cheese. Stroganoff, Rigatoni. (Funny that this is the prompt as macaroni and cheese with white sauce is what’s for lunch today π)
What’s your favorite game (card, board, video, etc.)? Why?
I am not a video gamer. My kids have tried patiently to teach me how to play video games and their experiment was an epic fail. π. My favorites are Scrabble, checkers and Yahtzee
What foods would you like to make?
I love to cook and bake and I love watching people enjoying what I make even more.
I would love to spend a day in my kitchen working my way through Guy Fieri’s cookbooks, focusing on some of his burger recipes or trying dishes from his Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives episodes.
