Are there things you try to practice daily to live a more sustainable lifestyle?
I am sustained by reading the Bible every day, listening to worship music every morning during my commute, being grateful to have another day to live, love and work. I try to contribute to a sustainable lifestyle by reusing, recycling, repurposing. Especially with food. I hate wasting or throwing food away.
What’s the most delicious thing you’ve ever eaten?
I am going to have to go with my father in law’s fried potatoes topped with grilled onions. He would get the potatoes toasty brown and crispy on the edges . They were divine
If you were forced to wear one outfit over and over again, what would it be?
Life would be grand in my favorite blue jeans, my comfy hot pink Skechers and a gray hooded sweatshirt my husband bought me during his last year of law school. It’s my all-purpose when it’s “my weekend off outfit”. 😁
How important is spirituality in your life?
It is vital to my everyday life. I start each morning with a Bible verse of the day, listen to Christian radio during my morning commute, and prayer is an integral part whenever I need guidance and wisdom.
How do you practice self-care?
I took my husband out for breakfast, we are going to stream the church service shortly, then I will be cranking the Elvis music through my headphones and mow the lawn. My Sunday self care agenda for today
How do you waste the most time every day?
Letting worrying and self-doubt get a strangle hold on my day. Especially if I am worrying about what might happen or could happen. And time spent in self doubt….am I good enough, did I get enough done?
Which food, when you eat it, instantly transports you to childhood?
Anytime I get to have something from Dunkin donuts. When I was young I went to the same summer camp starting in elementary school all the way to high school when I became a lifeguard at the same camp. The camp was an hour away from our house and we drove by Dunkin donuts to get there. It was the highlight of the drive to stop in and get a raspberry filled bismarck.
Who is your favorite historical figure?
This was a tough choice considering the powerful and influential people to choose from….I could list at least 10. But I would have to choose Former Prime Minister of England Margaret Thatcher. From her humble beginnings living in an apartment above her parents’ grocery store to becoming Britain’s first female prime minister, she was a powerful orator, deeply loved her people and country, stood courageous in spite of an assassination attempt and showed how to graciously withstand criticism.
Write about your first crush.
In high school I was the captain of an all girls’ Bible quizzing team in western New York state. We traveled every month competing at various youth rallies. Our team was undefeated for 6 months until we traveled to a new church and had to compete against a team ironically enough that was all boys, and on top of that, 4 farm brothers. We kept tying after several rounds and it went to a 10 question buzzer beater between the eldest brother and me. He bested me and I was smitten 😁
